Switching your Discord server to a new bot without losing levels

Move your server to Elarix: where each feature lives, how to bring members' levels and role rewards over, and how to avoid double messages.

Updated October 2, 2026

1. Add Elarix and run the setup

Invite Elarix, then run /setup. Pick a starter template or go step by step. Prefer the web? /dashboard has every setting.

2. Bring your levels

/levels import reads your old leveling bot's public leaderboard and copies every member's XP and message count, so nobody starts from zero. It can copy the role rewards and XP rate too. Elarix uses the common XP curve (5 × level² + 50 × level + 100 XP per level), so if your old bot does too, everyone lands on the same level.

The old bot's leaderboard has to be public for the import to read it.

3. Find your features

Run /elarix switch in your server for the full list. The usual ones:

  • Levels: /levels toggle, /rank, /levels reward add, plus voice XP and XP boosts.
  • Welcome messages: /welcome set, auto-roles with /role autorole.
  • Reaction roles: button menus with /role menu preset.
  • Custom commands: /autoresponder add.
  • Moderation: /warn, /timeout, /ban, and automod under /protect automod.
  • Social alerts: /stream add for live alerts, /feed add for YouTube uploads, Reddit and RSS.

4. Switch the old features off

Turn each feature off in the old bot as you set it up in Elarix, so members don't get two welcome messages or two level-ups. Once everything works, you can remove the old bot.

Questions

Do I have to pay for features that were paid before?

Elarix's features are free, including role rewards, custom commands and the dashboard. Premium only raises limits and adds extras like branding.

Will members lose their levels?

Not if the old bot's leaderboard is public: /levels import copies them.

Try it in your server

Elarix is free, takes two clicks to add, and starts with everything switched off.
